Vinansar
Vino de la Tierra Castilla
50% Cabernet Sauvignon 50% termpranillo

This is one of those "try it in the wine shop for the heck of it" wines that turned out to be really nice.  At about $10 a bottle (and the first Spanish wine I've ever purchased) it is quite enjoyable.   Good as a standalone or a worthy complement to a good meal I'm impressed with the versatility.  Nothing about it knocks your socks off, but equally important there's little, if anything, to make you wonder if you'd ever pick up another bottle.  A nice change of pace for Cab or Pinot Noir lovers at a reasonable price point.

Notes:

Smooth, fruity, clean on the palate.  Very light nose with just a hint of tobacco.  Short on the finish, moderate to light tannins and good balance.  6/10
